Virtual Meeting with Robert Sullivan

Presentation Description for Colorado Chapters of IFMA Meeting on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 @ 12:00 Noon

This presentation will provide an introduction to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for Colorado Chapters of IFMA Members.  It will include basic information about NFPA standards; how NFPA standards are developed and revised, and how IFMA Members can be involved with that process; fire code adoptions; the ABCs of fire code compliance; the NFPA website; and an overview of how fire codes, fire standards, and local fire code amendments interact with each other and how IFMA Members can develop a better understanding of how the whole “system” works.  The discussion will include some examples of how IFMA Members can utilize NFPA standards for safety in buildings, and a brief review of some of the current “hot topics” in the field of fire protection.  If there are specific questions or topics that the audience would like to hear about, please submit those questions to me ([email protected]) prior to the meeting, so that I can include those topics in my presentation.  Ample time will be provided for questions and discussion
